Ch. Charan Singh
Ch. Charan Singh was born in Bhangan village of Sonipat district in the family of Ch. Ramnaryan Singh, an ordinary farmer. Ch. Ramnaryan Singh was a stern Arya Samaji. In 1930 young Charan Singh started taking participation in the works of congress. He was sent to jail but escaped as his wife expired. He went to jail twice for 'Styagrha'. He was sent to jail for to years for participating in Quit India movement and was kept in the jails of Rohtak, Multan and Syalkot. India Govt.and State Govt. honoured him by giving him 'Tamra Patra'. Haryana govt named its Agriculture university at Hissar after him. Now this university is unique and best in its own field.
